This is not the first time such a case has been registered against Virat Kohli. A similar case was filed by a lawyer in Chennai in August. At that time, there was a demand for ban on promoting online gambling and there was also a request for arrest of celebrities.

The plea by the lawyer said that gambling addiction is more dangerous for the society and is a violation of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, as it violates the right to life.

Significantly, Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli are seen talking about and promoting a team in some fantasy apps. Such advertisements on TV run during the match. The court has asked them to reply to the notice by 19 November.
